Multiple Sclerosis Foundation Website
One of our favorite clients, the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation (MSF) is a publicly funded 501(c)(3) organization that was established in 1986. With national headquarters in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, the MSF employs the concept of utilizing a centralized location to serve the nation.
The goal of this project was to extend this concept to the company’s website and to serve people online using this same ideology. To successfully accomplish this, we had to maintain one primary objective: designing for visually and cognitively impaired users. MSF had an existing website that was hard to navigate and impossible to update. With our end users firmly in mind, we approached this important project with sensitivity and resolve.
The innovative PHP solution uses 3 main navigational devices to ensure that a user is never left feeling lost: ‘Universal breadcrumbs’ which always displays the last 3 pages visited, a ‘Reinforced Sub-navigation’ that highlights related pages, and a ‘text re-sizer’ that allows the user to choose the font size they feel comfortable with. This user friendly, content rich site was also shipped with a custom PHP content management system (CMS) to allow easy updating with fresh, relevant content. Truly, a great site for a great cause.
