Gold Coast Schools is a group of related schools offering licensing education for a variety of Florida professions. Gold Coast began operations in 1970 as a real estate school with a single location. Since then, they have grown into one of the country's largest providers of classroom and distance learning in the fields of real estate, appraisal, mortgage, insurance and construction education.

In January of 2003, they asked 14 East to develop a way for them to gain more control over their website and the content published through it. They need a full shopping cart solution, but as we outlined this project other features seemed to make sense.

This is a fast paced school with constantly changing information. So we needed to build in the ability to completely control all courses, news, PDF brochures, class locations, class times and all other course-related information. This was done through custom Cold Fusion functions that are accessible to the backend.

They also asked us to head up the Search Engine Optimization and Marketing (SEO) efforts for the site. The tough real estate related terms are sought after and hard to attain a good ranking amidst the flood of competition. 14 East was able to get them good rankings and establish quality backlinks, which lend to them being consistently ranked above the competition. Taking advantage of our Priority Maintenance plans, they are constantly adding new features even today as Gold Coast remains one of our favorite clients.
