Ping is a very useful command when you want to find out the status of your site. Here is the procedure to ping:
- In Windows, click the 'Start' button.
- Select 'Run'
- Next to 'Open', type: command
- Click the 'OK' button. This opens an MS-DOS box.
- Type : ping yourdomainname.com
Note: Do not type "www".
You can also do the same thing from numerous websites, including http://www.network-tools.com/ and http://www.tracert.com/.
