If you have chosen 14 East for your virtual hosting needs and need to setup your E-mail accounts in a stand alone E-mail viewer, follow the instructions below for your program.
From the top tool bar, click on the Tools menu, the select Email Accounts from the drop down menu.
Click on Add a new e-mail account button from the upper left and then click next.
Select POP3 and then click next.
Next, you will need to enter your account settings.
Your Name: Enter the name you wish to have displayed to others. This is what your message will show other as to who it's from. Generally, your full name is entered here.
E-Mail Address: Enter your full e-mail address.
User Name: Your full e-mail address.
Password: Assigned Password.
Do not click Test account settings. This may or may not work.
Click the More Settings button, then select the Outgoing Server tab and verify the following two selections are ON:
My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication
Use same settings as my incoming mail server
Click OK, then Next, then Finish.
Incoming (POP) and outgoing (SMTP) mail server names are both the same: mail.14east.com
Setting up Entourage for a mac is fairly straight-forward and simple.
First, open Entourage.
A window may appear asking if you would like to make Entourage your default email program. Click Yes if you would like it to be your default program; otherwise click No.
Next an Entourage Setup Assistant may appear. If it does, click Cancel.
Click Tools and then Accounts.
Click New.
An Account Setup Assistant will appear.
Click Configure account manually.
In the first white box, Account name, type 14 East.
In the Name box, type your name as you would like it appear to email recipients (Ex: John Doe).
In the E-mail address box, type your email address.
Type your email address again in the Account ID box.
Type in your password next Save password.
In the SMTP server box, type the same server name you used above (POP server).
Click the button below SMTP server that says "Click here for advanced sending options".
Check the box "SMTP server requires authentication".
Select the radio button for Use same settings as recieving mail server.
Click OK.
Incoming (POP) and outgoing (SMTP) mail server names are both the same: mail.14east.com
